The Bioartificial Pancreas

The only route to bring cell therapy to reality in a safe manner.

3rd Joint AIDPIT and EPITA Winter Symposium & 32nd AIDPIT Workshop

“Cutting-edge therapies for the treatment of diabetes have developed rapidly in the past decade and are likely to make increasing progress in the near future for the benefit of patients suffering from this disease. Pancreas transplantation has reached very high standards of success and is pushing its limits further to make the procedure available to increasing numbers of patients while maintaining efficiency and safety. Transplantation of islets of Langerhans has come of age and its functional results have reached new levels of success. Enormous progress has been made in the technology and pharmacology of diabetes therapy, but also in the understanding of the biology and physiology of this decidedly complex disease.”
